Halo Subscribed

Its been another day of pleasant Xbox Live mauling.

"The game I has mostly been playin today is Haloooooo.........."

Yes a game so amazingly addictive that even Beyonce sang about it. Go, gamer girl! A game that put the Xbox on the gaming map. A game so good, that even its Xbox Live lobbies still attract nearly a quarter of a million players at any one time. Compare that to the just over 100,000 that the likes of Call of Duty pulls in, and it assures you its a game well worth looking into.

I started my Halo addiction back on the golden oldie, Xbox original, on the classic Halo 2. It was probably the best fun I've had in my entire life. Oh, apart from that one time I actually pulled my self away from my Xbox and ventured outside. (ha, only saying what others think) Seriously though, what a classic. Of all the things that attracted me most, was the ripping up the ground in a warthog whilst a scorpion tried to blast me into oblivion. The clans where great, the lobbies were lively, and the maps and game modes the best around. I'll now be totally honest and stick my neck out, by saying Halo 3 is not as good (winch!)
Its still fun, it still has great game modes, it still has all the usual weapons and newer ones. It just lacks something I can't quite put my finger on. I'm not all nostalgically weepy, but I think its the graphics. The rugged look of Halo 2's, has been replaced by graphically over elaborate, pretty, detailed landscapes. Some of the maps seem to lack a little imagination too, especially the sandbox add on map. It also lacks player interaction such as clans, and match lobbies where you can see and talk to other players whilst others join.

"Boldly going forward!"

Yep, despite my misgivings, its still the daddy of ALL games. Lets just see how Halo:ODST plays out. (out sometime soon!)

Well, 3-Ball, Bungie's Halo 3 double experience points weekend calls. Good Luck Spartans!
