Hi, I know Operation Flashpoint: Rising Dragon has been out for a while now, but being hooked on MW2 gave me little reason to buy it, and why I ever did I'll never know!
Codemasters are the guys behind its release, I remember the arrival of the Darling brothers in the twilight days of the spectrum, when they arrived with great games such as BMX Simulator on their excellent budget price range. After playing this game though, I'm not too sure I appreciate that history so much now.
Okay, its not Call of duty MW2, which is way out there on its own anyway, but more like Call of duty 2 (old I mean not rubbish!). Gamers who enjoy tactical battles may think it ploughs its own path to glory, but me? I honestly feel its a step in the wrong direction for the 360 and Codemasters. Full price for a game that has suffered a PC existence for years?? The last thing the 360 needs is an old PC game dressed up as new game, with straight convert, shoddy graphics. The soldiers in your squad are crap, the vehicles are pathetic and woeful to control(almost retro!) Want tactics then go for the 'Tom Clancy' titles.
If its WAR you want, look to Battlefield Bad Company2 or MW2 to satisfy your blood thirst, all you'll find here is a battle to make something good of a poor, old game.
