Halloween WildWest Style

What better way to have a Happy Halloween than to scare everyone senseless. And that's just what Rockstar have done with their new XboxLive DLC (downloadable content). Yes, they've turned the latest installement of their merry little cowboy trilogy - Red Dead Redemption into zombie hell with their "Undead" add-on. The game itself plays well enough in its original format, but what a difference an undead plague has as it sweeps across the Western Frontier. You still play our gun slinging bad boy John Marston. It all starts when Marston is woken one night by his zombie looking uncle who has stopped by for a bite or two! Unfortunately for Marston's wife, its her who gets the first bite, who then in turn infects their son. Containing the two, with some helpful 'hog-tieing' he then sets off for answers. Undead people both recently infected and those dead for years now roam the land in search of blood, along with undead animals a plenty. Some of the cut scenes are both bloody, scary and at times so funny. The best of the scary stuff for me though, is hiking around a town on foot. With the absence of a radar you really need to be aware of your surroundings, or the first you'll know is when a zombie breaks out the picnic basket on your back.
VERDICT: For 800 points, if you enjoy Red Dead and want a change to Nazi zombies then get your teeth into this! 9/10
