Premium Rate calls...

Two of the gaming Worlds biggest software companies now boast "Premium member" map packages. Electronic Arts and Activision look set to ignite the growing trend for prepaid add-ons. It seems Activision's Modern Warfare 3 - Call of Duty Elite (4000msp) was well subscribed to. Then along came EA with their Battlefield 3 package at the same price. Whose add-on is the best, I couldn't tell you. Lured to Premium by "double XP" weekends, special weapons or avatar items fellow gamers duly came in their droves. One thing for sure, Actvision were probably no doubt as amazed as me that people were prepared to pay for something yet to be seen!
Seems like a worthy business plan, make money whilst you think up something to sell. Being the pessimist that I am I'd soon spend on each add-on separately, just in case there's a duff map pack or something.

Finally, if you ain't got MW3 or BF3 then you seriously need an Xbox makeover...
