As Christmas looms, the question of should I upgrade to the next gen console, suddenly means very little. Let's be honest we may live in an austerity hit World, but Christmas means presents!
And in a flash, we are back at the "Shall I buy Sony or Microsoft?"....because for me they are the only horses in the console race this winter. (Nintendo are the non runners, after already dismounting the consumer with that bloody awful WiiU console.)
So what will sway you the consumer? Will it be graphics? Will it be processing power? Will it be console exclusives? Or will it be price?
Looking at Microsoft's shift in tactic with the Xbox One price. The price for a kinectless XBone is now a mere £329.99. Shopping giant Argos ran a great deal last week, offering an Xbox One with Assassin Creed Blackflag and Unity and strangely enough Minecraft for only £359.99!
Sony meanwhile are sticking to their £359.99 price band. And who can blame them, after stealing the march on an expensive launching Xbox One? Out selling their rivals has given them a good start, but let's hope they don't get too complacent. After all we all want a price war!
Apologies to any American readers, but you'll have to do your own exchange rates calculations..... Cheerio.
